By joining our team of claims adjusters, you will be part of a collaborative force providing commercial general liability claims management solutions to our policyholders, multinationals and companies operating on the global platform.
Your expertise will be used to effectively resolve cases whose complexity varies from moderate to complex.
The specialized claims adjuster will carry out an elaborate analysis of the legal liability as well as the damages to which our policyholders are exposed, will review the coverage elements applicable to each claim and coordinate the aspects of the investigation.
As an ambassador of Zurich’s claims department, you will directly participate in the company’s performance and excellent results by carrying out the proactive and diligent management of reserves and provisions, minimizing costs and reducing the life cycle of files.
You will negotiate the settlement of claims and coordinate court cases by providing instructions and authority to the attorneys and experts involved in your cases. You will attend settlement conferences and participate in the preparation of trials.
Qualifications sought
- Hold a claims adjuster’s certificate – commercial lines – valid and issued by the Autorité des marchés financiers
AND
- Hold a university degree with 3 or more years of experience in claims adjustment or related function online in commercial insurance
OR
- Hold a college diploma and 5 or more years of experience in claims settlement in commercial lines.
- Completed Zurich Insurance Apprentice certification, including an Associate’s degree with 3+ years of claims or insurance experience.
- Have been admitted and successfully completed the Entrance Training / Claims Trainee at Zurich with 3+ years of experience in claims or insurance.
- Bilingualism – ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear professional manner in French and English
- Knowledge of Office 365 functions and applications
Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Update notes and files regularly and in order to identify important documents;
- Determine liability by collecting and analyzing the fundamental elements of law and principles of civil liability;
- Complete coverage analyzes to confirm the application of guarantees, limitations and exclusions and take the necessary steps to promptly notify the insured in the event of coverage problems;
- Arrive at the rapid and proactive resolution of claims by developing an investigation and prioritization and evaluation plan;
- Establish reserves and regularly review reserves throughout the disaster and ensure compliance with authority limits when evaluating and validating reserves in the systems;
- Proceed with the assessment of claims under various heads and types of damages depending on usage, according to the law and case law;
- Proceed with the settlement of claims according to the authority granted and by the elaboration and development of effective strategies;
- Demonstrate service excellence to customers and partners by ensuring proactive communication updates and prompt response to inquiries
- Meet the expectations and needs of our policyholders by following the guides and protocols for managing their claims and participating in file reviews;
- Collaborate and communicate regularly with the underwriting and marketing departments;
- Control the costs related to the investigation and the expertise of the files and direct the experts according to the agreements with our partners in associate experts
- Identify the opportunity for collection and indicators of fraud and proactively refer the files to the collection services and of special investigation.
